Happy Halloween!

It’s Halloween, NaNoWriMo Eve and the three quarter mark for 2014! Even though NaNo begins in an hour and a half, I’m an old lady a full time employee who just can’t stay up that late. So I’m just going to post a quick update on my fic progress for the year so far, then hit the sack.

Before I do that, though, I do want to remind everyone that the Blank Page Awards are going on right now. I’m nominated for quite a few years, and I’d love it if any of you guys voted for me. But I would love it if you voted in general, even if you pick someone else’s stories. Just go vote! 🙂

And now, my fic progress update…

This year, I really don’t feel like I have accomplished much. Don’t even remind me how long it’s been since Amber and I have updated I Will Try To Fix You or how many months it’s been since Lindsay and I promised to begin posting Naked Magic. I fully admit that the delay in both of those has been my fault.

But in better news, we are making slow but steady progress on Truth is a Whisper. We’re adding a few more scenes to part three to flesh it out a bit more, but overall, we’re really not that far from the end of the story. We’re hopeful that we can finish it by its three year anniversary in April. In related news, we’ve been writing this thing for three years?! Holy crap.

We’re making much, much faster progress on a different story, though. Bled Dry is coming along really nicely, and even though the chapters are quite long, there aren’t going to be all that many of them. I won’t put a date on it, but we’ll have this one finished fairly soon.

But what about my solo stuff? Good question, because we’re putting all those collabs aside for the next month so we can both focus on solo stuff. And even though I did finish one behemoth not long ago, I feel like I still need to really make some progress on my other WIPs. So my last two NaNo projects are back on the table. I’m starting with In the Dark. I’ll be attempting to finish it, and if that takes less than 50,000 words, I’ll work a bit on Kiss and Tell.

Will I reach 50k? Who knows! I set my Camp NaNo goals lower this year, so I’m very anxious about this regular session. But I’ve done it every year since coming back to hanfic in 2009, and I’m not about to stop now. I’ll check back in a few weeks to let you know how it went!
