About the Story

As many people know, Zac/Carrick or Zarrick, is one of my favorite pairings, second only to Zaylor. At some point earlier this year, I began brainstorming a oneshot full of unrequited love for both pairings. But I soon realized it was more than just a oneshot, and this story was born.

The title comes from a very old song from the 1960s, “Along Comes Mary” by The Association. While I was still brainstorming this story, I heard the song on the radio and the line “the songs are left unsung and flung upon the scars” stuck out. It seemed like a really pretty way to describe unrequited love, especially between a group of musicians. So there you have it.
