I started writing this story two years and five months ago. At the time, I was really impressed by authors who could write super lengthy stories. I was also toying with ideas about unrequited love triangles. After letting it stew for a while, I decided to combine those two concepts. Before too long, I had written the first chapter.

Maybe I shouldn’t admit this, but I never had much of a plan for Songs. There were a few scenes I knew had to happen, but the rest was up in the air. I won’t tell you guys what twists I devised later on and which ones I knew all along.

I’ve taken a few long breaks from this story, and I know that it’s probably gone in a few directions that not all of my readers were on board for. It was a bit of an experiment, and it may not have gone perfectly, but that’s life. It’s been a big part of my life for a while, and it’s definitely bittersweet to see it end. But I hope you’ve all enjoyed the ride.

Eighty chapters! That is just insane. And there’s still more to be written. I’m getting there, though. I can see how it’s all going to play it; it’s just a matter of getting the words out. I hope you all are still enjoying this story. I know it’s been a crazy trip, and we aren’t quite there yet…
