Just some randomness and extra information related to the story. I don’t expect there to be a lot of additions to this section.

About the Story

I’ve had the idea of a lighthearted college AU in my head for several months now. When I started toying with the idea of participating in NaNoWriMo 2009, I thought it would be a good chance to do this story. The plot was fairly well laid out in my head and I knew it wasn’t too angsty, so it would be easy to dive into headfirst for a month.

The plot is, like I said, a lot more lighthearted than what I normally write. It was a fun diversion, though. I liked trying my hand at a slightly different style to see if I could handle it. I’ve found that I do quite enjoy writing in first person, but I don’t think chick lit is really my thing.

As for the title, it comes from the Savage Garden song “Gunning Down Romance.” I thought it fit, because the story deals with the idea of doing what you think you should, not what you want to do. Sticking with what is “acceptable.” Maybe it isn’t such a light story after all.

Credits

All the lyrics used on the soundtrack and within the story are, obviously, property of the songwriters/performers. Credits for all brushes, textures, etc can be found here.

Pictures of Zac, Taylor, Isaac come from a variety of sources. The best places to look are Hitzpics and Portal Hanson Brasil.

For the other actors “playing” my characters, check out the following links. And yes, this story does have a huge cast. Some characters appear in bigger roles than others, but I had distinct pictures in my head for all of them. These are just a few of those characters and their actors.
