This story was written for the first ever round of my Wintry Remix challenge. Amber and I were assigned Elizabeth, someone with whom we share a number of ships. At first, we considered remixing her story Heavy Heart To Carry, but weren’t sure what to do with it. In the end, we decided that The Past Is Just A Goodbye had a lot of potential and a lot of unexplored backstory. That made it easy to divide up who would be writing what–if you couldn’t guess, Amber wrote the past chapters from Taylor’s point of view, and I wrote the present ones from Zac’s.

We were pretty nervous about sharing this fic, hoping that Elizabeth liked the changes we had made. It’s effectively a different story with the same basic plot, so I think anyone will enjoy it even if they haven’t read the original. And I’m pleased to say, Elizabeth enjoyed it, too 🙂
